I have slightly updated the New Logo For Toronto

This is no longer a joke. Having spent the weekend in Toronto showing my new logo for Toronto to people from Toronto, it is clear that they are really up for a new logo. They liked what I did on Saturday a lot, describing it as "awesome" "really interesting" and "challenging" - except the CN Tower in yesterday's version was someone else's drawing, so I have re-made it a bit using entirely my own work, photographs etc.

Here it is:

I am really up for spreading the word and creating a movement with this one, so let your friends know all about it, especially if you work and/or live in Toronto. And if that's you reading this, City of Toronto, I'm happy to negotiate!!!

Also, I am developing a range of printed products that you can buy (I receive a small commission - see yourselves as supporting me through a period of non-workingness), some of which you can see here. (It is work-in-progress!!!) I have supplied a sneak preview below - a tie that I like to think of as the "Tie of Success".

Fingers crossed my online shop takes off!!!

I discover that I am a typography/design genius

A short- to medium-length period of literal non-workingness is imminent (starting 5.30pm on Friday 26 March). During the time I am not working I will, of course, be doing some 'hard work' on this web-blog, creating (as if it were possible) even more reasons for you, my adoring readers, to visit this site of excellence up to and including ten times a day.

But when I am not doing some 'hard work' on this web-blog, I will be thinking about future ways of earning money - some of which I think will be a bit surprising to you (and me!). Did you know, for example, that I have very big talents in the field of typography and/or design?

No, nor did I - until this afternoon, when I was gripped by sudden inspiration to design a new logo for the City of Toronto - a city dominated by the CN Tower, and where the only adjective or exclamation known by the inhabitants is the word "awesome". Here it is:

I am sure you will agree that I have captured the very essence of this magnificent city, described puzzlingly on the city website as "the cultural, entertainment and financial capital of Canada"*.

Awesome!

I am feeling like this today

This, and many more reassuringly awesome animals at the preeningly magnificent This Animal Is Awesome.

Coming soon: a recipe for North Staffordshire Oatcakes, and a point of view on the Montreal bus system - something that has, until now, been a mystery to me.

I am soon to be literally non-working once again

Yes, it is true. For last week I resigned from my job. From next Friday (26th March 2010, to be precise), I will be literally non-working once again.

I am not sure what will happen yet, but it will definitely be good. Not only will it be good, but the content of this web-blog - originally conceived (in the manner of IVF octuplets) to to keep me busy when I wasn't working in 2005 - will once again rise from the ashes, snapping hard on the heels of for e.g. the German site dedicated to knitted 'fetisch' items and this one, dedicated to hipster puppies.

In essence, therefore, I feel a little like this:

And also a bit like this:

It is a good feeling! (Also, watch this space!)

I've got another woodchuck snapshot

Same woodchuck as the one from Sunday, but with a different lens on my telephone-camera. I think this snapshot captures his enthusiastic but mildly gormless inquisitiveness more accurately. Would you have him round to tea, assuming he was a) still alive; b) able to talk; c) able to pick up a teacup and/or crumpet? I know I would. Also, what do you think his name is? When I see him, I see "Kevin".
