I discover that I am a typography/design genius

A short- to medium-length period of literal non-workingness is imminent (starting 5.30pm on Friday 26 March). During the time I am not working I will, of course, be doing some 'hard work' on this web-blog, creating (as if it were possible) even more reasons for you, my adoring readers, to visit this site of excellence up to and including ten times a day.

But when I am not doing some 'hard work' on this web-blog, I will be thinking about future ways of earning money - some of which I think will be a bit surprising to you (and me!). Did you know, for example, that I have very big talents in the field of typography and/or design?

No, nor did I - until this afternoon, when I was gripped by sudden inspiration to design a new logo for the City of Toronto - a city dominated by the CN Tower, and where the only adjective or exclamation known by the inhabitants is the word "awesome". Here it is:

I am sure you will agree that I have captured the very essence of this magnificent city, described puzzlingly on the city website as "the cultural, entertainment and financial capital of Canada"*.

Awesome!

* Don't tell Montreal.

Am reconsidering advice/encouragement re your impending non-workingingness. However, this logo may have potential. Is the availability of cheap, good pot the same in Toronto as in Vancouver? I've only ever been to Vancouver.

As an ex advertising professional, NWM, I think it's more than pretty good, and yes, certainly shows typographical aptitude :).

Or do. Up to you, but you can probably get the gist from the link...

Oh, I don't know if the Vancouver thing is any real obstacle ? I mean, I'm sure all the people of Vancouver are really awesome, but for sure they don't have a monopoly on awesomeness ? Cuz really, the whole of Canada is, like, totally awesome !

Nice try on the "Toronto" graphic, but...
you need a lot more knowledge of typography. Your spacing between letters in the word Toronto has not been adequately refined. Every letter combination must be carefully examined to determine the correct spacing between them, and, much more than that, all such spacing must take into careful consideration the spaces between ALL the letters and their total effect on the eye. Specifically, your letter combination To is much too loose when compared to the remainder of the word.
This note is from HGM, a retired professional typographer.
