It is my one year anniversary of living in Canada

How I got here is another story altogether, and one that may, one day, be worth telling. (I am thinking of doing it in the form of an epistolary novel, but will try and make it more interesting than for e.g. Clarissa by perhaps writing to imaginary friends and/or celebrities, who then write back, except the letters will be made up.)

Suffice to say that if you had told me two years and three days ago that I would be living in Montreal with a French-Canadian veterinary research histopathogist, I would have laughed in your silly face. But it is true!

(Thanks again to Dave Shelton, virtual friend and genius illustrator, for my 'hot pix'.)

Dear God has it been a year?! Bloody hell! Congrats and all that...wow...bloody amazing...it's been a year?! It's more because I don't seem to have moved on so much in my life that I am so shocked. Well done you! :o)

I am waiting on tenterhooks to find out how you wound up in Montreal. English people - as in, actually from England - well, maybe more from Scotland, but close enough - used to settle there quite frequently, but not so much in the last 150 years or so. I love the epistolary novel idea. If you write it I'll read it. Bon weekend.

Congratulations on your First Canuckiversary!

M. Canadien is a histopathologist? Does that mean he examines specimens from history texts? Especially Prussian history?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHa... just a little histopathological joke there. Very little.

Sorry.

A year! And how you have settled down. Mind you I was cheered (I know you weren't) by your account of everything going wrong in the old place in Brixton - I used to love reading about Twatboy and the squirrel... you do seem altogether less fed up now, the Pathologist - self-haircutting or no - seems much better suited to you than the rest of it was.

So many posts, so rapidly! As Tim says, it is quite like old times, in the best sense.

Hi there,

Sorry to be a bit off topic here, but I am the author of a book called 'A Place in My Country: In Search of a Rural Dream.'

A blogger (Katyboo1’s Weblog) recently posted a review of my book on Amazon.co.uk and on her own blog.

I hope you don't mind but I thought it might therefore appeal to you too, as she has you on her blogroll.

Here's the Amazon reference but it is published by Phoenix in paperback and was published by Weidenfeld & Nicholson last year.

Anyway, there it is. Again, hope you don't object to this shameless self-promotion.

Kind regards,
Ian
