Day 363: I Have To Go To Work Tomorrow

One year ago, this was not the case! For one year ago I was lurching about at the beginning of seven months off work; seven glorious months in which I stared down squirrels, found treasure in my ladygarden, looked for Oatibix, watched daytime television and tried not running.

Now I write short posts full of links, for I am broken and working. In the morning, I wake up and lie in bed rotating my ankles and thinking pleasant thoughts (inc. naked pathologists, what to have for breakfast, clean pants, holidays, brown paper packages tied up with string). Then I remember I have to go to work and my heart actually and also literally sinks*.

This is no way to be! I fear I may find a very special way of marking my first anniversary of non-workingness, and it will not have much to do with cake.

* Exactly like it does in the real life magazines, when someone catches their boyfriend wearing ladies' underwear.

Do you really need a commenter like me extolling the virtues of real non-workingness? No, because you know all about that, being in your heart (though not in the actuality) non-working.

Happy anniversary. May your dreams come true.

I have been reading your blog for ages but have never commented. It's actually probably my favourite of all I read. You have an exceptionally funny turn of phrase.

Happy birthday!!

Do be careful with the Oatibix, dear Monkey - it's dangerous.
