Anyway, to business: some more photographs of gay Paree, scene of my childhood and where, in my head, I will live one day, eating tiny éclairs and drinking tisane, wearing turban hats and pearls and smoking cigarettes out of the side of my mouth.
Here goes. The bride arrived outside the Opéra (building, not singing ladies etc) in a white stretch limo, and was accompanied by 3 stylists, two of them carrying sequinned shoes. (NB: there is a chance I may 'have' to go and live in Paris for a couple of weeks, which clearly would be rubbish - so if you know of anything magical and not in all the guide books, will you let me know?)

I hope you like it. I do.

If you 'have' to go and live in Paris before the end of February, I would recommend this exhibition at the Arts Decoratifs: http://www.lesartsdecoratifs.fr/francais/accueil-292/une-486/francais/arts-decoratifs/expositions-23/actuellement-501/dans-le-departement-contemporain-610/circuit-ceramique-la-scene/
It is utterly brilliant and contains many fascinating ceramic items, some of which were so beautifully glazed that I wanted to lick them, and others of which were ceramic cocks, which I did not want to lick.
I would also recommend this, though it probably *is* in all the guidebooks by now: http://www.davidlebovitz.com/2010/10/a-la-biche-au-bois/
I would recommend http://www.michel-chaudun.jp/ for chocolate and Thoumieux, 79 rue Saint Dominique, 75007 Paris and Chez l'ami Jean (http://www.amijean.eu) for food (not difficult to tell where I lived).
I hope you're not too disappointed- we're not all cowboys in Texas!
One of my favorite stops in Paris is in the guidebooks, but it seems like a lot of people skip, is Les Invalides (http://www.parislogue.com/planning-a-trip/les-invalides-napoleons-tomb-military-museums.html).
I found this blog after my visit, so I didn't stop at any of her suggestions, but it features off the beaten track and forgotten bits of Paris. Maybe you can find something here http://parisisinvisible.blogspot.com/
My dears! Katie, dear Baron, V - you are too kind. (V - I LOVED Austin - it is absolutely, resolutely fabulous.)
Thank you for these recommendations. I shall be taking them up. You will see.
