These were taken at about 10.30am this morning. Is it any wonder I am down in the mouth, endless travelling and hotel rooms aside? Also, I have not had enough vegetables recently, and it is making me cross!
("If we were good photographers, pictures of stuff like that would be in books about England in the rain", said my friend K. I, of course, am not a good photographer.)
On the other hand, we found this at the end of the pier:
They were playing "The Grand Old Duke Of York". It was brilliant.

Ah, so that's where Sooty's got to! I did wonder...
Still hasn't thrown off that annoying "Soo" though...
(I also get grumpy if I don't eat enough fresh, green stuff...)
I get the feeling you're not having a very good time in Southport. If you can find the Victorian shopping arcade thingey there's a very good second hand bookshop there which may cheer you up.
Hotels are all crap. It's their mission in life.
Why are you in Southport anyway?
What on earth are you doing in Southport? Come and visit me instead! I am but a hop, skip and a jump away. Or at least, I think I am. I sometimes get Southport and Stockport mixed up. But they are both in the NW, right?
Aw Sooty and Sweep and Thingy - was it Sue? They look like they're in a fish tank, like a mini Houdini show.
It's like of sunshine that's making us cross. The monsoon season is upon us I fear, all Wimbledon's fault of course.
... or, you could wing your way up to Scotland to see us! Loads of veg, we asked for it 'specially.
We've got a spot or two of rain, too.
I don't know, looking at the splendid photos the place seems to have everything one could wish for, as long as existential angst is what one wants, and bingo. I feel strangely drawn, thank you.
Funland? You could have them done under the Trades Descriptions Act 1968.
