NON-WORKINGMONKEY IN CANADA, DAY 2 (Pt 2): I Sup Upon A Splendid French Canadian Coffee

Regular readers will be aware of my ongoing project which - to the astonishment and delight of all who know and love this web-log - involves the regular documentation of cups of coffee taken in the cafés of Amsterdam, the city in which I currently reside.

Happily for me, it seems that the cafés of Montréal (the destination of my two week 'vacation'*) will also be providing many photographic opportunities over the coming weeks. The coffees of the Montrealers are many, the choice dizzying and - if one asks nicely, and with a coquettish grin - provided with a muffin (with banane et noix) the size of your head. It is a happiness almost too great to bear.

Hoorah for French Canadia!

* No roundabouts, 'facture' not 'addition', virtually Europe, but definitely North America; filled with giant fruits, pathologists who cut their own hair and people who speak a French that is like American, but in French.

That looks like good, if do-it-yourself, coffee.

Pleased that you are having fun on your vacation.

Nearly wrote vocation there.

Clearly too much RE.

I'd rather be friends with the Muffin than Muffy.

Bon appetite!

Those clever Canadians! That muffin obviously doubles as a splendid and fashionable hat which you can wear to the Muffy shower - and should it shower at the shower you will be safe and dry underneath your baked hat of weather-preparedness! I'm not entirely sure it would protect against downpours of oversized fruit Though. You might want a bike helmet for that.

If you haven't been yet you should go to La Croissanterie on Hutchison, corner of Fairmount. A coffee on the terrasse in the sun is fantastic.

How fortunate you went to school in Paris, rather than Singapore.

Have you had a chance to amaze them with all that poetry you had to learn? Un formi de dix-huit metres, avec un chapeau sur la tete ........

Gosh that muffin has me salivating. Being that I am a fan of muffin tops (the best part of the muffin) that one just ticks all the boxes!!
